9-12 November 2017
KCMA Airport in Camarillo, CA
WELCOME! You are invited to attend the 3rd annual Mentor West Fly-In and Veterans Salute, in Camarillo, CA. (KCMA). We are thrilled to have you join us and we look forward to 4 great days of flying, food, fun and camaraderie.
Following Thursday arrivals, Friday, Nov 10, and Saturday, Nov 11, will focus on 2/3/4 ship formation flying training. Sunday morning, Nov 12, will consist of a mass formation practice, followed by the Veterans Flight formation over the Santa Barbara Veterans Day parade. Even if you are new to formation flying, we will have qualified pilots available to instruct and evaluate throughout the weekend, so that you have the opportunity to participate in the event.
We believe Sunday's mass formation will be the largest fly-over for a Veterans Day parade anywhere in the United States. Last year we had over 20 aircraft, to include Santa Barbara Sheriff's Helicopters, a P-51 Mustang, multiple T-34's, Nanchang's, Yaks, a B-25, a PBJ and a C-47. This year we expect more of the same.

Equipment Requirements for training:
If you plan to fly with an instructor or check pilot for training purposes, please ensure you have a working intercom and the ability for the GIB to communicate outside the aircraft. Some sorties will be over water, so if you have water wings please bring them, for yourself and GIB. If you have a flight suit and/or helmet, bring and wear that too.
